Why Do Chinese Still Need Chinese Schools

Anyway, the excuse for keeping Chinese schools no longer exists. Hence there is no longer any need for Chinese schools. A three-year plan should be sufficient to close down all Chinese schools in Malaysia and for all Malaysians to unite under a single education system. With Pakatan Harapan running Malaysia Baru, we can expect wonderful things when, as Kit Siang says, Malaysia becomes a word-class country with an education system that will be the envy of Britain. DAP claims 97% of the Chinese voters voted for Pakatan Harapan. Pakatan Harapan claims Malaysians now live in Malaysia Baru or a New Malaysia under the Pakatan Harapan federal government. DAP, PKR, PPBM and PAN claim Pakatan Harapan is bringing changes, improvements and reforms to the country. Malaysians who voted Pakatan Harapan claim that finally, after 61 years, there are going to be so many changes, improvements and reforms under Malaysia Baru.
Okay, let us not dispute all those claims and agree that what they claim is true — meaning that under the Malaysia Baru of Pakatan Harapan there are going to be changes, improvements and reforms. In that case, Malaysia no longer needs vernacular schools or Chinese and Tamil schools.

The Chinese say they need Chinese schools because Malaysia’s national schools are inferior and not good enough for the Chinese All we need is one education system for all, not only to show that Malaysians are one and that there are no different levels or classes of Malaysians under Pakatan Harapan’s New Malaysia, but because if the education system is good enough for the Malays then it must be good enough for the Chinese and Indians — and that the Chinese and Indians are not too good for Malaysia’s national education system.
The Chinese claim that Malaysia’s national education system is too inferior for the Chinese. Maybe Malaysia’s national education system is good enough for the Malays, but it is too low standard and not good enough for the Chinese. Hence the Chinese need a different and better education system than the national education system.
In other words, Malays can settle for third class if they want to but the Chinese will not accept anything less than first class. And Malaysia’s national education system is third class while the Chinese schools are first class.

Under Pakatan Harapan, Malaysia’s education system is being reformed to become world-class and at par with the UK This is ironical considering some of the previous education ministers are now in Pakatan Harapan.
Anyway, that was before, during the time of Barisan Nasional when Malaysia was a third-class country. According to Lim Kit Siang, today, Malaysia is moving towards becoming a world-class country. And that would mean Malaysia’s education system is going to be world-class, comparable to the UK.
So, Pakatan Harapan can start closing down the Chinese (and Tamil) schools and, say, within the next three years by 2022, all Chinese schools will be replaced by national schools. Before GE15 in 2023, the standard of national schools will be world-class and will be comparable or better than Chinese schools.

Chinese schools churn out Chinese, not Malaysians According to the Chinese, education is number one and the economy is number two on the priority list of the Chinese. I, too, place education as number one. That is why I sold all my Amanah Saham shares just to send my two daughters to UK universities (one to Kent and the other to Middlesex — and it cost about £20,000 a year for each of them). So, I know what it is like to go broke just to educate your children.
