Who Did Bersatu Give Money To Sanusi Asks Marzuki
PAS has “challenged” Bersatu to provide clearer details regarding allegations that the latter had channelled financial contributions to the Islamist party during the last general election.
In disputing the claim, PAS vice-president and Perikatan Nasional election director Sanusi Nor said that his party did not rely on Bersatu funds.
Instead, Sanusi said PAS – particularly in Kedah – financed its 15th general election campaign expenses on its own.
Free Malaysia Today reported that Sanusi claimed the party’s operations were funded through contributions from members at the polling district unit level.
ADSFunds were also collected from the traditional PAS “Milo tin” donations, he added.
The “Milo tin” is a long-standing practice associated with PAS’ fundraising efforts during events, including political ceramah.
“Ask him, who did the money go to? I’d also like to know,” he was quoted as saying.
The Kedah menteri besar was responding to remarks by Marzuki Mohamad, former principal private secretary to Muhyiddin Yassin when the Bersatu president was prime minister.

Marzuki Mohamad‘Bersatu footed GE15 costs’
Earlier today, Marzuki rebutted Sanusi’s statement made during his winding-up speech at the close of PAS’ 71st muktamar in Alor Setar yesterday.
In that speech, Sanusi had mocked Bersatu for supposedly enjoying an easier ride in the election by relying on PAS’ facilities and machinery.
Even then, Sanusi said, Bersatu wanted to lead PN. He also hinted that PAS could raise many more issues concerning their cooperation over the years.
Marzuki, however, clarified that Bersatu had borne PN’s election costs during GE15, which enabled PAS to win 43 parliamentary seats.
“All of PN’s expenses were borne by Bersatu.
“In fact, Bersatu also gave PAS a significant amount of financial contributions,” he said in a statement today.
Sanusi maintained that in Kedah, PAS shouldered the full election expenses during PN’s campaign.
He further claimed that PAS had even helped supply equipment and materials for Bersatu candidates.
“Only one candidate reimbursed Kedah PAS, which had advanced payments to the suppliers,” he added. - Mkini
