Whispers In The Courtroom The Dangerous Dance Between Power And Justice

(BN) – IN a democracy, the country stands on three strong pillars, the Government, the Parliament, and the Courts.
These three must work together, but not interfere with each other.
If the Government begins to interfere with the Courts, the whole system becomes unbalanced.
It is like a table with a broken leg, it cannot stand.
The Constitution of Malaysia gives power to the Judiciary to make decisions according to the law.
The Government cannot decide who should win or lose a case. That is the duty of the judges.
When the Government refuses to extend the service of judges who are honest and respected, people begin to suspect, is this because the judges made decisions that the Government did not like?
This is dangerous. If judges are punished for doing their job properly, other judges will become afraid.
They may no longer make decisions based on justice, but based on what the Government wants.
This is how the Courts lose their freedom. When that happens, we are no longer a true democracy.
People must trust the Courts. If they believe that the law only serves those in power, they will lose confidence.
They will no longer feel protected. This can bring unrest and anger in the society. The country becomes unstable.
For many years, Malaysia struggled to build back the reputation of its Judiciary.
We had our days before, when judges were removed or controlled. We don’t want to return to that time.
Judges like Tun Tengku Maimun have shown that our courts can be firm, fair, and independent. We must continue this path.
A Government that came to power promising reforms and clean governance must not forget its promise.
Weakening the Courts means weakening democracy. The people did not vote for that.
To protect Malaysia, the Judiciary must be allowed to do its work without fear, without favour.
Only then can justice live. Only then can the nation stand tall.
