What the taxi-drivers did to Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad is an example of the culture of the ‘New’ Malaysia that Pakatan Harapan introduced to the people. The culture of the ‘New’ Malaysia is to insult, vilify, swear and curse those elder than you and/or in positions of authority.
They say nasty things about His Majesty the Agong and his fellow rulers. They say nasty things about the Malays, Islam and the Muslims. They mock Najib Tun Razak and his wife and the three million Umno leaders and members. They mock the two million PAS leaders, members and supporters.
They say the turbans of the Muftis are too tight it is restricting the flow of blood to their brains, which is why Muslims with turbans are the most stupid people on earth (but if you say the same thing about the Sikhs they will send you hundreds of death threats and threaten to rape your wife and children).

This what DAP is teaching the Chinese to do They say Malays do not own Malaysia and that Malays are originally Indians who have no right to claim Malaysia as their motherland. They say they will never accept Islamic Shariah laws in Malaysia and if Muslims want Shariah laws it will have to be implemented over their dead bodies.
Yes, since the last ten years Malaysians are taught that being biadap is okay and is part of your human rights and civil liberties. Democracy means you are free to insult others and not show them respect.
This used to be a Chinese culture but in May 1969 the Malays put the Chinese in their place and since then they were more careful. Since 2008, the Malays encouraged the non-Malays to insult whoever they disagreed with because Malaysia is a democracy and insulting is part of democracy.
