THE Kuala Lumpur High Court today set April 3 for re-mention of the case of former prime minister Najib Razak who is facing seven charges involving SRC International Sdn Bhd funds amounting to RM42 million
Judge Mohd Nazlan Mohd Ghazali fixed the date after he was informed by deputy public prosecutor Manoj Kurup that the Court of Appeal had allowed Najib’s application to postpone the trial pending  Najib’s interlocutory appeal application to the Federal Court
Yesterday, a panel of three appellate judges chaired by Judge Zabariah Mohd Yusof allowed Najib’s application to postpone the hearing
Zabariah stressed that the defendant had valid grounds for the application and that it was not a delaying tactic
The court yesterday rejected three of the four appeals submitted by Najib, whose lawyers subsequently said they would appeal the dismissals to the apex court
Najib is bidding for a gag order to prohibit the media and public from discussing the merits of his criminal case, access to investigation documents including witness statements at the pre-trial stage, and the withdrawal of the attorney-general’s certificate to transfer Najib’s hearing by the sessions court to the high courts
The high court had earlier set Feb 12 -28 and March 4-29, for a total 33 days to hear Najib’s case. This was postponed
On July 4 2018, Najib, who is also the Pekan MP, received three charges of criminal breach of trust  and one charge of power abuse. These were followed on August 8 by three charges of money laundering in connection with the same case
Najib pleaded not guilty to all charges
Najib, 66, was represented by Muhammad Shafee Abdullah
