Wan Fayhsal Snubbed For Revealing Erdogan As 1 Of 3 Foreign Leaders Blocked From Meeting Tun M

MADANI government supporters have trolled Bersatu supreme council member Wan Ahmad Fayhsal Wan Ahmad Kamal for “self-appointing himself as spokesman” to back up twice former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
This came about after the Machang MP revealed that it was Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdoğan whom Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim had allegedly prevented from meeting the almost centenarian statesman.
“Allow me to mention it on Tun M’s behalf: Erdogan was prevented from meeting Tun M,” the former Bersatu Youth chief said in a response to PMX’s aide Muhammad Kamil Abdul Munim who had wanted Dr Mahathir to be specific which foreign leaders he had been prevented from meeting.

“In the end, only Erdogan’s wife was able to meet Tun Siti Hasmah (Dr Mahathir’s wife). Tun M is not a habitual liar like your boss.”
Recall that Dr Mahathir had claimed in a clip from the Apa Cerita podcast that as many as three foreign leaders whom he considered friends had wished to meet him when they visited Malaysia in recent times but were not permitted to do so.
This led to Kamil who is the political secretary to the Finance Minister called on Dr Mahathir to disclose the identities of those foreign leaders who were keen to meet him.
“Which leaders? From which country? Name them. If not, then Tun is lying to create a negative perception and gain political sympathy,” the PKR Youth deputy chief had penned on X. “Lying is not good, Tun. It’s a sin.”

While opposition-slant netizens “have challenged” PMX to answer Dr Mahathir’s allegations, their pro-Madani counterparts have rebutted Wan Fayhsal for speaking on Dr Mahathir’s behalf.
One commenter wondered if he is in Dr Mahathir’s payroll while others demanded evidence that it was indeed the 70-year-old Erdogan that Dr Mahathir was referring to lest he was only lying through his teeth given his poison pen letter stunt has landed him in a six-month suspension from the Dewan Rakyat on July 18 last year.

Moreover, one commenter exposed that Wan Fayhsal’s claim that only Erdogan’s wife Emine “was able to meet Tun Siti Hasmah” during the couple’s recent visit to Malaysia is flawed given that the meeting actually took place in June 2023 when Erdogan invited Dr Mahathir and wife Tun Dr Siti Hasmah Mohamad Ali to the presidential palace in Ankara during the elderly couple’s brief stop-over in Turkiye.

Others highlighted past statements by PAS leaders who painted Dr Mahathir as both a seasonal liar and revengeful person (today Dr Mahathir is an unofficial advisor to the opposition Perikatan Nasional coalition).

In short, Wan Fayhsal was told to focus on developmental matters than “to make despicable narrative every time a foreign leader comes to town”.
