Vietjet Expands India Footprint Announcing 11 Additional Direct Routes To Key Indian Cities From September 2022
The airline will soon operate 17 Vietnam-India services connecting Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City/Da Nang/Phu Quoc with Ahmedabad/Hyderabad/Bengaluru/Mumbai/New Delhi
Vietjet is set to dominate the skies with the addition of 11 new routes connecting four major Vietnamese cities to the Western, Southern and Central hubs of India namely Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Bangalore (Bengaluru). The expansion of the Vietnam-India network will undeniably make Vietjet the largest carrier operating between the two countries in terms of capacity, with a total of 17 flight services to offer.
The nine new routes linking Hanoi/ Ho Chi Minh City/ Da Nang with Ahmedabad/ Hyderabad/ Bangalore will operate from September onwards with four weekly flights each. Two additional routes connecting Da Nang with Mumbai/ New Delhi will be operational towards the end of the year, just in time for the year-end holidays. This expansion comes following the overwhelming response to its Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City to New Delhi/Mumbai routes that were launched earlier this year.

“Vietjet is the first airline to launch direct flights between Vietnam and India since 2019 and has constantly strived to expand its operations to the world’s second most populated country. As the world of travel slowly reopens, coupled with the excellent feedback received for our current Vietnam – India routes, Vietjet will continue to prioritise expanding and increasing flight connectivity to India,” said Nguyen Thanh Son, vice president of Vietjet.
He added that with the expansion of Vietjet’s flight network to all major cities in India, the airline carrier aims to enable better connectivity to meet the rise in demand for both leisure and business travel to India. He hoped that this will also contribute to the economic and trade development between the two countries and the region.
Vietjet currently operates four services linking Hanoi/Ho Chi Minh City with New Delhi/Mumbai on 3-4 flights per week each. The Phu Quoc - Mumbai/New Delhi services which was announced earlier in June will commence operation from September 8 and 9 respectively with 3-4 flights per week.
In light of this, Malaysian travelers now have a broader spectrum of flight choices to India, while at the same time leveraging the opportunity to explore the rich cultures of Vietnam during transit. Malaysians can also take advantage of the various flight times and routes Vietjet has to offer by flying from Kuala Lumpur to Vietnam and then on to India.
Flyers will also be able to take advantage of Vietjet’s promotional prices as the carrier is launching a special 3-day promotional offer of 18,688 super low-fare tickets starting from $USD0 (*) from 19-21 July 2022 via www.vietjetair.com and Vietjet Air mobile app in celebration of these new routes. Travel period for this deal is from 15 August 2022, to 26 March 2023 (**) and is applicable to all routes between the two countries.
