Unemployed Not Choosy Just Don T Fancy Low Wages Says Psm
PSM said some were prepared to wake up as early as 3am to travel to Singapore for better-paying jobs. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) has disputed the human resources minister’s claim that Malaysians who were unemployed were “too choosy”.
This unemployed group of Malaysians are just unhappy with the wages offered, PSM’s worker’s bureau coordinator Sivaranjani Manickam said.
“It has nothing to do with being picky, but low wages,” she said in a statement.
Ads by KioskedSivaranjani said people generally had no issue with taking any jobs, adding that some youths even wake up as early as 3am to go to work in Singapore because of the better pay.

Yesterday, human resources minister V Sivakumar gave an assurance that there would be no reduction in the workforce if more existing monopolies were dismantled.
Sivakumar said there would be no layoffs as the demand for labour in the country is high.
“The problem I see is that many of the unemployed are too choosy about jobs,” he was quoted as saying, adding that there were a lot of vacancies.
In March last year, Malaysian Employers Federation president Syed Hussain Husman told FMT that employers found it really difficult to get manpower as locals were not interested in the 3D (dirty, dangerous and difficult) sectors, despite the high number of unemployment among youths. - FMT
