(NST) – Politicians should be giving the Madani government their full cooperation to govern instead of harping on sentiments.
Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Khaled Nordin said the people are growing weary of incessant political manoeuvres, and it’s time to move on.
Commenting on the Kuala Kubu Baharu by-election win by the unity government, Khaled said there is an urgent need for politicians to rise above racial sentiments and focus on supporting a government capable of leading the nation towards prosperity.
“A collective effort is needed to move beyond political divides and prioritise the wellbeing of the nation.
“The people are fed up with politics,” he said, while urging for a shift towards constructive governance.

He did not elaborate. He, however, reiterated it was time to move on and for the government to concentrate on administrating the country.
Khaled attributed PH’s win to voters who were not swayed by emotional sentiments but based their choice on the party which showed results in terms of service to the people.
He added voters elected their ‘wakil rakyat’ knowing that the candidate will prioritise their needs and interest, and it has nothing to do with race.

Last night, Umno president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Pakatan Harapan’s victory in defending the Kuala Kubu Baharu state seat is proof of the strong cooperation among parties in the unity government.
Zahid, who is Barisan Nasional chairman, said it managed to win the seat despite the “UmDAP” label thrown by detractors.
He had said it was evident that if the party has high resilience, the unity government will remain strong despite whatever ever being thrown by its political enemies.
