Tun M Told To Stop Scapegoating The Chinese To Cast Power Hungry Impression Among The Malays

“THE Chinese don’t have interest to be PM (Prime Minister); we just don’t want corrupted leaders.”
Such is the message by a technocrat netizen to centenarian twice former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad who recently called on young Malays to be wary of the possibility of Malaysia being dominated by non-Malays.
“We’ve already seen the seeds of discrimination against us when they dominate the economy,” the father of “divide and rule” policy further warned the Malays on X.
“Of course, when they have full power as the government of the day, their policy will be meritocracy which will benefit them. The New Economic Policy (NEP) which contains affirmative action will be scrapped.”

This is where Dr Mahathir’s misplaced concerns which are seen by many as intended to cause a rift among the Malays and non-Malays deserves a proper rebuttal.
“The King is a Malay; the PM is a Malay; the chief judge is a Malay; the Home Minister/IGP (Inspector-General of Police is a Malay,” justified Peng Seong, The One (@Cashisnotking1). “The one in power is always a Malay.”

The self-pro-claimed regional head of a bank and property development COO (chief operating officer) added:
“1MDB (was controlled) by the Malays; tycoon Tan Sri Tan Sri Syed Mokhtar Al-Bukhary is a Malay. The one cheating Malay is also Malay [sic].
“Stop scapegoating C to create fear among Malay for hunting power [sic].”
The bottom line is that there is a hidden agenda in the statement of the elderly statesman who reigned for 22 years and 22 months as Malaysia’s PM.

“He wants his lapdogs to be in power so that his families and cronies are protected,” claimed Peng Seong.
His view was echoed by fellow non-Malay netizen Ir.Kumar (@skumar176) who reiterated that non-Malays are not greedy for political power.

“Non-Malays only want leaders who’re not CORRUPT, who are fair to all people including minorities and natives. We want an effective NEP so that the national coffer brings prosperity to the Malays and the country! We DO NOT WANT POWER!”
Ir.Kumar further cautioned:
“As long as the NEP fund is being milked and eroded by the Malay Elite, the country will not progress socio-economically!
“The Malays will continue to be the subject of political propaganda in every GE (general election) and threatened with various 3R (race, religion and royalty) tactics! A sustainable growth of the Malays is important to our nation and minorities.” – May 5, 2025
