The Failure Of Western Weapons Angkatan Tentera Malaysia Please Take Note

 The war in Ukraine is perhaps the first war since World War 2 where modern weapons systems are being pitted against modern European adversaries especially Russia. All the proxy wars throughout the Cold War (from the 1950s until 1990) were fought between proxies of either the West or of the Soviet Union or Communist China. 
Even then the West has lost ALL the major proxy wars they fought like Korea, Vietnam, the invasion of Iraq, Afghanistan and now Ukraine. 
Ukraine is exposing the weaknesses of western weapons system to such an extent that western weapons are now being withdrawn from the Ukraine war. Britain has almost completely stopped supplying new weapons to Ukraine ever since British weapons like the Storm Shadow missile and now the Challenger 2 tank have been proven to perform below par in Ukraine. The Russians have shot down the Storm Shadow missiles and even recovered some of them quite intact.
After destroying 29 out of 30 German made Leopard 2 tanks, the Russians have destroyed two more British Challenger 2 tanks. Both the German Leopard 2 and the Challenger 2 tanks are now being pulled out of combat and they will NOT be replaced.  It is a major embarrassment for Western weapons sellers who used to extol the "invincibility" of their guns and tanks.
The German Leopard 2 and the British Challenger have been blown to bits by drones and anti tank missiles which cost just a few thousand US Dollars a piece. It is really embarrassing. The worst performing weapons are the American made ones which have all been blown to smithereens in Ukraine.
The much hyped up American HIMARS rockets have been blown out of the sky. The M777 155 mm towed artillery cannons have been located and destroyed by US$3000 drones armed with only 3kg warheads. Their JDAM guided bombs have been easily misguided (and miss their targets by many kilometers) by Russian electronic jamming systems.

Hundreds if not thousands of American made Stryker and Bradley IFVs (Infantry Fighting Vehicles) have been blown to bits in Ukraine (PICTURE BELOW).  

 
 
This does not mean that Russian equipment do not get blown to bits. They all get blown to bits if they are hit at the right place with the right weapons. 
But the Western weapons cost two, three or four times the Russian weapons.  For example the Russian T72 tank costs about US$1.2 million or less than RM5.5 Million each.
In contrast the British Challenger 2 tank costs more than four million British Pounds each or RM24.5 Million.
That is FIVE Russian T72 tanks for the cost of just ONE British Challenger tank.

Here is another highly effective naval weapons system. This is the Chinese Type 022 missile boat (a catamaran), actually a Littoral Combat Ship  or LCS because it has a shallow draft,  high speed (55 mph), small size and small crew and can defend coastal waters very well. If these fast boats attack in a swarm they can sink giant aircraft carriers with their missiles.

 


 
So to our Angkatan Tentera Malaysia, just because the Mat Salleh belanja breakfast at Sandhurst or allowed you to visit West Point dont go paying four or five times for Western weapons systems that do not work or which can get blown to bits by US$3000 drones.
