The Ayatollahs In Three Minutes
With traffic through the Suez Canal down to a trickle (plus freight insurance for the Red Sea going through the roof) prices of over 12% of global trade which was shipped through the Suez Canal are now going up.
Approximately 12% of global trade and 30% of global container traffic traverse the Suez, transporting over USD $1 trillion worth of goods per annum. On average, 50 ships traverse the canal daily carrying between USD $3-9 billion worth of cargo
Your chemicals, shampoos, cars, manufactured items from Europe etc are now being sent around the bottom of Africa, adding an extra 5,000 MILES to the journey and another EIGHT DAYS sailing time before the goods arrive at their destinations. Prices have already moved up.
Granted this video has been produced by the NCRI - the opposition National Council for Resistance in Iran but the points are not without merit. This whole kerfuffle (which is what it really is) is because of the really silly and childish Ayatollahs fighting for their own survival in Iran - (while lining their own pockets as well). I have made this point many times before - ALL these dictatorial, illegitimate and undemocratic regimes need to constantly justify their existence to their people. Creating boogeymen around the neighborhood is a great way to frighten your own people and keep their attention deflected away from the real problem - your own failure to develop and manage your country (while you line your own pockets with money)
And this has been happening here in Malaysia as well. The politicians are trying all sorts of diversionary tactics to deflect the peoples' attention away from the fact that they simply do not know how to develop and manage the country - while they also line their own pockets with our money.
