It also wants an injunction to stop private companies from encroaching into native lands to carry out commercial activities
The Kelantan government has since defended logging activities in the state, arguing that it was a source of revenue for the east coast state, but said it would halt such activities if the federal government settles the oil royalty payments
Recently, Orang Asli villagers in Kampung Tasik Cunex, Gerik, set up a blockade following allegations that the state government had encroached into their lands
The Pakatan Harapan-led administration has since denied the claim
Yesterday, Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu defended logging activities in the state, adding that if logging is stopped, it could lead to many losing their jobs. - FMT
