Swift Action Needed On Petrol Bomb Attack Says Kepong Mp

PETALING JAYA: DAP MP Lim Lip Eng has urged the police to take swift action following a petrol bomb attack on a house in Kepong Baru.
Lim, the MP for Kepong, said he received a complaint from a female victim whose previously rented home was allegedly targeted by a local believed to be working for a Singapore-based loan shark.
He said the attacker had recorded the act and sent the video to the victim, warning her that failure to settle her debts would result in daily harassment.
The eight-second video showed the attacker leaving a note at the front gate of a house before lighting up an object and hurling it into the house compound. The suspect then rushed into a vehicle and fled the scene.
“This is not merely a threat – it is a serious crime that endangers public safety and undermines the rule of law. The victim has lodged a police report, and I urge the police to take swift and decisive action,” Lim said in a statement.
“Kuala Lumpur must not become a playground for gangsters or cross-border loan shark syndicates. The authorities must act without delay to bring those responsible to justice.”
Last week, police in Ipoh tracked down a suspect believed to have hurled molotov cocktails at a house in Kampung Rapat.
Ipoh police chief Abang Zainal Abidin Abang Ahmad said a 62-year-old woman filed five reports on the incidents between March 26 and last Friday. - FMT
