Strike S Not A Solution Health Minister Tells Healthcare Workers

Going on a strike will not solve the problems at hand, Health Minister Dr Zaliha Mustafa has told healthcare workers who are rumoured to be planning to go on an unannounced strike across the country.
Instead, Zaliha (above) advised the aggrieved parties to talk out their issues face-to-face.
"As a doctor myself, I truly understand your problems.
"I vow to solve these problems. If I could do it today, I would, but we need to understand that it takes time," the Sekijang MP said in a short video posted on her official TikTok account today.

The PKR lawmaker said she needs time to scrutinise the problems and weigh the possible solutions."So, I urge all to think in a mature manner. Come and see me or get in touch with my officers, and God willing, we can solve the problems together," Zaliha said.
'Solve long-standing problems'
Yesterday, the Malaysian Medical Association (MMA) urged Putrajaya to take rumours of the strike seriously and resolve the long-standing problems in the healthcare sector.
MMA president Dr Muruga Raj Rajathurai called on Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, who touted himself as a reformist, to transform the healthcare system now that he has the power to do so.
Earlier this week, Ipoh Timor MP Howard Lee raised the alarm about a potential unplanned strike by healthcare workers.
According to the DAP leader, he learned of the possible strike from over a dozen contract and full-time government doctors across the country.
Such a strike, if it happens, would have devastating consequences when the country is already facing problems of overcrowding in hospitals, compounded by manpower shortage, Lee said. - Mkini
