Its enforcement director Datuk Iskandar Halim Sulaiman said those acting unscrupulously would be penalised under the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act 2011
He said consumers who encountered such traders can lodge a complaint with the ministry
The complaints can be made via the following channels:1. E-mail at [email protected]. SMS to 15888 by typing KPDNHEP ADUAN
3. WhatsApp at 019-279 43174. Mobile application EzAdu KPDNHEP"Lodge complaints by providing full details of the purchase, including the location of the premises
"This will allow for investigations to be carried out accordingly," he said when contacted today
Iskandar said, so far, the ministry has yet to receive any complaints on bottled water
Meanwhile, he said the ministry's enforcement officers have begin inspecting and monitoring the sales of bottled water in the affected areas since yesterday
"Checks carried out at business premises found that there is an adequate supply of bottled water
"Premises that ran out of stock yesterday have begun restocking today."He also reminded consumers that there was no need for them to engage in panic buying by purchasing bottled water excessively
