Some Still Think I M With Harapan Muhyiddin With Bn Peja

Despite leaving Pakatan Harapan during the infamous Sheraton Move in 2020, it appears that certain quarters are still unaware that former menteri besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu is no longer with the coalition.
During campaigning for the general election, Faizal (above) revealed that there are still some who think he is contesting in the Tambun parliamentary seat under Harapan.
“Many people came to me and said they will support my team and me, adding they would put a ‘cross’ on Harapan. They still think I’m contesting under Harapan like before.
“Some also said they will follow Peja, ‘hidup Barisan’,” the Perak Perikatan Nasional (PN) chairperson said, with a chuckle.
He said this in a presser after holding a meet and greet session with Tambun voters this morning.
Faizal attributed the confusion to his tenure as youth and sports minister after being ousted as Perak menteri besar.
“They see that the prime minister and the (Perak) menteri besar are from BN.
“They forgot that Umno rejected the unity of ummah among Bersatu, PAS and the former. We are left to walk alone in PN. This is the thing that people don’t notice.”
Fazial revealed that he was not the only one being mistaken as a member of the Harapan coalition as former prime minister Muhyiddin Yassin was also in a similar predicament.
“Many say they will support ‘abah’ (the moniker given to Muhyiddin) and they will support BN. They think Muhyiddin is still in BN.”
Therefore, Faizal said there was a need for a continuous effort to introduce both him and his coalition boss as PN leaders.
“Although it’s just a minority group, it is still significant. We need to educate them.
“There are so many more that we need to reach out to and we will do so if we can,” he stated. - Mkini
