Siti Kasim Enraged At Money Play To Lure Conversion Forced Islamisation In Malaysia
HUMAN rights activist and lawyer Siti Kasim has hit out at the use of money to induce people to embrace Islam as opposed to those people professing the Muslim faith willingly in that “they’ve thoroughly understood the content of Al-Quran or love Allah”.
This follows news report of a 28-year-old Perlis civil servant been remanded for six days recently for allegedly submitting false claims of RM132,000 in compassionate payments to 49 new Muslim converts between 2022 and 2024.
“We don’t know for sure how much of such so-called financial inducement for Muslim converts has been abused by civil servants as payment for themselves,” she fumed in a YouTube video.
“But I can tell for sure based on feedback from Orang Asli or widespread video on social media of Malay Muslims proudly Islamise the Ah So (aunties) and Ah Pek (uncles) by the roadside.
“We’ve to question whether their motive of doing so (converting non-Muslims) is because they receive financial allowances and if those who convert to Islam are getting some form of financial inducements.”
On a similar note, Siti Kasim further lamented how institution of higher learning are compelling non-Muslim students to embrace Islam.
“Tactics are created to compel them to do so through indoctrination by exposing them to intensive learning of Islamic syllabus, listening to ceramah agama (religious talks) or propaganda which promotes the beauty of Islam while subtly showcasing defects in other religions,” revealed the Orang Asli advocate.
Invasion of privacy
“Students are subject to learning pressure of being sidelined if they don’t express intertest in changing their religion or even offered social/academic benefits as inducement to lure them into Islam.
“It’s un-Islamic to undermine other faiths yet this is happening before our very eyes with few ustaz who denigrate the Hindu faith as this is also happening to Orang Asli children.”
Touching on the invasion of privacy, Siti Kasim also shared first person account from Malay Muslim parents how school teachers are passing remarks of “hell awaits” to schoolchildren whose mothers don’t adhere to Islamic dressing code, ie donning the tudung (headscarf).
“Who are they to question if one will enter heaven or hell … unfortunately many parents kept this to themselves for not wanting to create ugly scenes in schools *which will eventually be detrimental to their children),” she asserted.
“Even the Chief Justice has wondered what type of Islam is being taught in Malaysia …judges only carry out their duties in accordance with the law but those who don’t side Islamic religious authorities in their judgment are often subject to condemnation.”
Moving forward, Siti Kasim wants the Madani government to make religion a private matter while restricting the open Islamisation policy.
“We want the religious authorities to teach Muslims how to improve themselves in terms of their economic well-being or scientific development instead of harping on the afterlife … as it is, the Malays need to survive in the present world for it’s very much commonsense that one will be duly compensated in the afterworld by doing good deeds.
“This is not a number game to boast your figures of new Muslim converts that you’ve lured into Islam.
“I really hope the government of the day is able to implement an Islamic policy based on what is taught by Al-Quran and not by the unauthentic hadith which has been manipulated by the ustaz and ustazah who ride on religion for their political mileage.” – Focus Malaysia
