Green Packet said Shahul brought with him more than 30 years of experience in various sectors, and was widely regarded for his ability to spark transformation and build strong public-private partnerships.
“This role is not just about leading a company, it’s about aligning technology with real-world progress. Green Packet has the people, platform, and passion to scale impact beyond Malaysia,” Shahul said in a press statement.
“I look forward to working with our teams and partners to shape solutions that matter, locally and globally.”
Shahul was most recently CEO of Human Resource Development Corporation (HRD Corp) a post he stepped down from in April after serving in the position for five years.
His tenure was marked by several achievements, although it was also briefly shrouded in controversy.
Under Shahul, the one-stop employment and skills development centre underwent a significant period of transformation and growth.
He was credited with modernising the organisation and is fondly regarded as one of the key architects of its transformation.
In 2024, he led HRD Corp to an all-time high income of RM434.2 million, recording a surplus before tax of RM127 million. Assets under the corporation’s management also grew to RM4 billion.
Shahul is also the founder of Dawood Holdings Sdn Bhd and has served as the general manager of JobsDB Malaysia Sdn Bhd and senior director of Informatics Malaysia Sdn Bhd.
He is also deputy president of the Asean Chamber of Commerce and Industry. - FMT
