Its chief Mustafa Salim described such move as irresponsible parties trying to provoke and create tension between the leadership and the division.
Without naming anyone, Mustafa suspected that the act was an attempt to tarnish the reputation and image of Seremban Umno.
"I am confident that (those responsible) trying to take advantage with the intention to smear the image of Seremban Umno.
"Having said that, the Seremban division will not fall for any attempts especially those from the other side of the political divide to prevent us from championing the party's struggles," said Mustafa.
Mustafa said a police report will be made by the division's secretary over the incident.
Seremban Umno Youth chief Zool Amali Hussin also denied any involvement over the display of the banners at a market near the Sikamat Mosque here.
"Such an act is similar to the Malay proverb of 'membaling batu sembunyi tangan' (loosely translated as throw a stone and hide the hand, which refers to someone who doesn't want to be responsible for his actions or words) which is clearly not our style.
"The movement will not stoop that low by engaging in such an immature act.
"We will always use the right channel to voice our views for the betterment of the party," said Zool Amali.
He, however, admitted that he had previously issued a statement that concurred with Pontian Umno Youth chief Mohd Helmi Buang.
It was reported that Helmi and few other Umno members had urged Zahid to retire with dignity. - NST
