Selangor Now Allows Dine In But Not Al Fresco
The Selangor state government has come up with guidelines for several businesses and activities, following the extension of the conditional movement control order (MCO) which was announced last Sunday by Prime Minister Muhyiddin Yassin
Selangor Menteri Besar Amirudin Shari said all restaurants are now allowed to have dine-in customers at their premises from 7am to 10pm, subject to social distancing rules
"However, opening tables at alleyways and parking lots are not allowed," he said in a statement today
He also encouraged restaurants to also provide pre-order services to customers to avoid congestion within the premises
“The local authorities will conduct spot checks from time to time to ensure compliance of the standard operating procedures (SOP) is at an optimum level,” Amirudin (photo) said
Meanwhile, food trucks and roadside stalls are allowed to operate from 8am to 10pm but they will be limited to drive-through, takeaways and delivery services only, he said
For wholesale markets, wet markets, public and private markets, Amirudin said all activities involving slaughtering and processing of animals such as chicken are banned
Other activities in the markets are allowed to operate as usual
“The ban on morning markets and night markets will remain for now,” he added
Lastly, he said, the rakyat are allowed to use all kinds of parks from 7am to 7pm. Fishing is also now allowed
However, hiking and camping activities are still forbidden, Amirudin said
He added that the state secretariat will issue a more detailed circular for the public’s reference later
The enforcement of these guidelines will start on May 13 and last till June 9
Any activities or other matters not detailed will remain subject to the SOP as prepared by the National Security Council (NSC), Amirudin said. - Mkini
