Saifuddin Advises Rafizi To Stick To Party Elections Rather Than Speculations

FORMER PKR Secretary-General and current Home Minister, Datuk Seri Saifuddin Nasution Ismail, advised Economy Minister Datuk Seri Rafizi Ramli to focus on the upcoming PKR 2025 election campaign rather than speculating about potential issues, such as being barred from entering Sarawak.
Speaking in Sabah, Saifuddin emphasised the importance of adhering to campaign rules, highlighting PKR’s track record, and strengthening the party’s vision.
“I think we should first complete the campaign according to the rules. Explain our track record and the vision to strengthen the party,” he said.
He noted his close friendship with Rafizi, mentioning frequent communication, but stressed the need to prioritise the election, which is just days away.
“Don’t think about whether we will be blocked and so on. Rafizi is my close friend, and we talk on the phone almost every day. So, even though he’s a close friend, it is my duty to convey the message to focus on the campaign because the election is only a few days away,” he continued.
Saifuddin also addressed Rafizi’s recent remarks about possibly being barred from Sarawak again if he loses his government or party positions, as had happened before his appointment as a minister.
Saifuddin expressed confidence in Sarawak’s role as a strategic partner in ensuring Malaysia’s political stability, citing its contribution to the Global Peace Index, and urged against premature statements or actions.
“So, Sarawak is a friendly state. I think there’s no need for us to make statements or take actions prematurely before something actually happens,” he added. — Focus Malaysia
