(Facebook pic)PETALING JAYA: The mother of a 14-year-old schoolboy who went missing for two days says her son ran away from his boarding school because he could not stand the bullying he suffered.
Nurul Shuhada Jamaludin, 38, said her son decided to escape from the school dormitory in Cheras at 3am on Thursday.
“My son told me he could not bear it and was unable to face it anymore,” she said, according to Sinar Harian. “This is not the first time he has been bullied. He had also been bullied before, but I was advised to resolve the matter and not take action against the perpetrator.”
She said her son was found by a member of the public at a bus stop in front of the Saidina Othman Mosque in Bandar Tun Razak yesterday. He was in a very weak state because he had not eaten since running away.
She said he left the dormitory without his wallet and had subsisted on bread and water given by someone.
Shuhada said she will lodge a police report over her son’s case once he is in stable condition. He is currently being treated at the Canselor Tuanku Muhriz Hospital in Cheras.
“The doctor has said that my son is still not stable and requires rest. After he recovers, I will lodge a police report over the bullying he faced. I really want justice for my son.
“For now, I do not want to force him to tell his story, I will wait until his condition is stable,” she told Bernama.
“This is the second time he suffered a very bad case of bullying. I can’t keep quiet anymore. I will take firm action so that justice can be upheld,” she was quoted as saying.
“He looked very unkempt (when found) and seemed like a homeless person. I have never seen him like this, but my family is very grateful that he was found to be safe,” she said.
Shuhada said the education ministry had not reached out to her over the incident yet. In a statement tonight, it said it was looking into the alleged bullying and would resolve the matter immediately.
