Reports Against Hadi Police Will Summon Anyone Involved

Following numerous reports lodged against PAS president Hadi Awang (above) on several issues, Inspector-General of Police Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani said the police will summon anyone involved to assist in investigations.
“Those who are believed to be involved will be called in. That is our SOP (standard operating procedure) in investigating cases,” he told reporters briefly after attending a high-tea session with the media at the Bukit Man police headquarters in Kuala Lumpur today.
This comes after several reports were lodged by politicians from Pakatan Harapan’s component parties on issues pertaining to Hadi’s claims against non-Malays and non-Muslims, which were allegedly provocative and could disrupt, destabilise and destroy the unity government.
There were also reports lodged in connection with Hadi’s statement that Perikatan Nasional and the opposition bloc were making plans to topple the government led by Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim.
Previously, Sentul district police chief Beh Eng Lai said the force had received reports on the Islamist party leader’s claims on PN’s attempt to oust the government, saying the probe would be conducted by Bukit Aman’s Classified Crime Investigation Unit.
However, Hadi, who is also Marang MP, has yet to be called in by the police for his statement to be recorded. 
In a separate development, Acryl said the police would not hesitate to take strict action against any party who tries to undermine the country’s harmony by spewing insults against religion, race, and royal institution (3R). 
A special team established to investigate 3R had probed into 23 cases from March 23 to May 17, he said.
Out of those aforementioned cases, five cases have been solved while the remaining 18 are still under investigation.
“This is very important. The police take it very seriously when it comes to 3R cases, especially those spread on social media and those touching on issues pertaining to royalty, race, and religion. It must be avoided at all times.
“When a case like this happens, we will take swift action to investigate to ensure that the perpetrators are identified and punished accordingly.
“This is to ensure that the harmony of the country’s multiracial society is preserved and the safety of our country is guaranteed,” he added.
The special task force, led by the director of the Criminal Investigation Department and managed by the Classified Crime Investigation Unit, was established on March 22. - Mkini
