Razman Threatens Legal Action Against Dap Youth Chief Over Caricature

Perak opposition leader Razman Zakaria has issued an ultimatum to DAP Youth chief Woo Kah Leong to apologise for a caricature of the PAS elected representative.
ADSIf Woo fails to apologise after today, Razman said he would not hesitate to take legal action against the politician.
The Gunung Semanggol assemblyperson added that Woo’s posting of the caricature depicting him as a clown is very provocative.
“I hereby demand an apology at the state assembly today from Woo, who is a Perak executive committee member, in the winding up speech and (for him to) withdraw the content on Facebook as soon as possible,” Razman said on Facebook.
DAP Youth chief Woo Kah LeongRazman - who the state assembly suspended for six months and was previously alleged to have been suspended from his position as Perak PAS commissioner as well - insisted that Woo’s move was an offence under Section 211 of the Communications and Multimedia Act 1998.
“Although I am not in the house due to the decision of the Rights and Privileges Committee to suspend me for six months, I will always ‘observe’ and communicate closely and directly through online platforms,” he said.
The state assembly suspended Razman on April 16 following a motion brought by Ong Boon Piow (Harapan-Bercham) and supported by Shahrul Zaman Yahya (BN-Rungkup).
A majority of state assembly members at that day’s sitting agreed to the motion.
Razman was previously referred to the body on Dec 4 last year on claims of defamation and making racist statements.
‘Not walking the talk’
Razman also expressed surprise to see the attitude shown by DAP, given how the party’s Perak chairperson, Nga Kor Ming, previously reprimanded the opposition for bringing caricatures mocking government leaders on nomination day for the Ayer Kuning by-election in Tapah.
DAP’s Nga Kor MingRazman said Nga failed to give the same advice to Woo.
