Rakan Muda New Phase To Produce Great Nation Pm

The Rakan Muda programme, given a new lease of life with the introduction of a new phase, will prepare a generation of youths with noble aspirations and rich in human values to turn Malaysia into a great nation in the region, said Anwar Ibrahim.
Speaking at the launch of Rakan Muda’s new phase at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in Bangi, Selangor today, the prime minister said the programme also advocates rejection of corruption and hypocrisy.
“It prepares a generation that applies human values by respecting one another, embraces and advocates kindness, brotherhood, technology and hates corruption, hypocrisy and racism,” he said to the loud cheers and applause from over 1,000 youths at the event.
Addressing himself as ‘Pakcik Anwar’ while engaging with the participants, he also called on youths to put a stop to outmoded thinking and elements that could potentially divide the nation.
“(The ones) to decide (the country’s future) are not from the older generation with outmoded thinking who are bent on dividing the nation, (but rather) those who will be saving the people and the country are the youths themselves,” he said.
Also present were Youth and Sports Minister Hannah Yeoh and her deputy Adam Adli Abd Halim.
Meanwhile, on a meeting with top PKR leaders at Seri Perdana, Putrajaya today, Anwar said it was just a normal briefing.
“It was a normal meeting... normal briefing,” he said briefly when asked about the matter after launching the Rakan Muda programme.
It was reported that the meeting that took place at the prime minister's official residence was to discuss the party’s preparations for the coming six state elections.
The six states are Selangor, Penang, Negeri Sembilan, Kedah, Kelantan, and Terengganu.
So far, the Selangor and Kelantan state legislative assemblies have been dissolved while Kedah will also do so this Wednesday. - Mkini
