Public Must Know Why Khairuddin Was Axed Says Nik Abduh

Nik Abduh Nik Aziz (left) says the PAS leadership needs to give a public explanation on the removal of Khairuddin Aman Razali from the central committee to avoid any negative perception of the party.PETALING JAYA: PAS must make public the reasons for dropping party stalwart Khairuddin Aman Razali as an appointed central committee member as he is not only a key figure in the party but also a former federal minister, says Bachok MP Nik Abduh Nik Aziz.
“If it is an internal disciplinary problem, then an explanation must be given to the public, not just party members,” Nik Abduh, the son of the late revered PAS leader Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, said in a Facebook post today.
“This is because the removal has been officially announced by the PAS leadership. It wasn’t just leaked or went viral.
“Khairuddin is one of the main figures in the leadership. He is a former minister from PAS. He is also the secretary of the PAS Syura Council.”
The former plantation industries and commodities minister was dropped as an appointed PAS committee member less than two months after his reappointment following his loss in the party elections last November.
Nik Abduh said three parties will be affected by the axing, namely Khairuddin, his supporters and the Syura Council.
He said the leadership needs to give a public explanation on the removal as soon as possible to avoid any negative perception of the party.
“PAS is now part of the ruling coalition in the country. Everything must be transparent when it comes to party members who hold the trust of the people. He is also the Kuala Nerus MP,” he said.
Nik Abduh and Mohd Zuhdi Marzuki, who also lost in the party elections, were reappointed central committee members together with Khairuddin for the 2021 to 2023 term. - FMT
