Public Bank Staff At Kl Head Office Tests Positive For Covid 19
Menara Public Bank has undergone deep cleansing at the affected floors after a bank employee tested positive for Covid-19. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: A Public Bank Bhd employee based at the bank’s headquarters in Jalan Ampang, Kuala Lumpur, has tested positive for Covid-19.
The bank said the employee whose result was made known yesterday, had last been in the Menara Public Bank building last Friday.
“Deep cleansing and thorough sanitisation activities have been carried out immediately on the affected floors, in accordance with health ministry guidelines.
“As an added precaution, the bank has also deeply cleansed and sanitised all common areas. Disinfection will also be carried out in the entire building,” Public Bank’s managing director and chief executive officer Tay Ah Lek said in a statement.
In the meantime, the bank said all its employees who had been in close contact with the individual are now on home quarantine and have also undergone the Covid-19 test at a private hospital.
“Public Bank’s management is continuously enhancing staff safety measures to contain any potential risks. All staff have been advised to practice self-hygiene and adhere closely to the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the health ministry, as well as the provisions of conditional movement control order (CMCO).
“The safety and wellbeing of every staff is Public Bank’s top priority. Public Bank is also taking all necessary precautionary measures to ensure the health and safety of its staff and customers in the bank’s premises,” he added. - FMT
