Prove Your Innocence Gerakan Tells Guan Eng
(NST) – Gerakan wants Finance Minister Lim Guan Eng to come clean after his name was implicated in alleged corrupt practices involving the proposed Penang undersea tunnel and three paired road projects.
Gerakan national deputy president Oh Tong Keong said Lim, who was the former Penang Chief Minister, should openly respond to and explain the allegation.
Oh, who is also Penang Gerakan chairman, said the people have the right to know if the allegation was false or true.
“Whether it is true or not, Lim (Guan Eng) must lodge a police report and allow the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) to investigate the case to prove his innocence.
“If this allegation is unfounded, he (Lim) can sue the online portal which reported the matter. But if he remains silent, it will cast suspicion on his part.
“That being the case, how should the other DAP leaders and grassroots face the masses?” he asked today.
Oh said the more Lim chose to remain silent, the more doubtful people would be.
“So, you (Lim) should come out and explain everything. Don’t keep quiet.
Blogger Raja Petra Kamarudin, in his latest entry in his portal www.malaysia-today.net, claimed he had been given a 200-page documents from someone in the anti-graft agency on the allegations against Lim.
He said he would produce extracts of the documents’ contents in several series to expose the matter.
The MACC had launched a probe into the undersea tunnel project as well as a separate probe over bribery allegations.
The RM6.3 billion tunnel project had raised numerous controversies in the past, especially on the high cost of the RM305 million feasibility studies, as well as the nearly two year-long delay in completing it.
