Police Nab 155 More Gisbh Followers Rescue 186 Victims Igp Says

The Royal Malaysia Police (RMP) has arrested another 155 followers of the Global Ikhwan Service and Business Holding (GISBH) group today in an early morning multi-agency raid across Peninsular Malaysia.
Inspector General of Police Razarudin Husain said 78 men and 77 women were arrested under Phase 4 of Ops Global, while another 186 victims were rescued, including women and children.
“All the arrests were conducted during raids on 82 premises involving charity homes, clinics, businesses, religious schools, and private residences.
“All arrested were taken to the (respective) state’s police contingent headquarters,” he said.
ADSRazarudin added that investigations are ongoing under Section 31(1) of the Children’s Act 2001, as well as Section 14 of the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.
“RMP together with the Islamic Development Department (Jakim) also confiscated various items including pamphlets with elements believed to be deviating from teachings of Islam, as well as items considered as khurafat (no basis in Islam),” he said.
He said the raiding teams comprised 3,801 individuals - 2,528 police officers and personnel, as well as 1,273 staff from the Health Ministry, Welfare Department, Malaysia Chemistry Department, and the National Registration Department.
Other than making arrests, Razarudin said the raiding teams also found premises believed to have been recently vacated by GISBH followers.
ADSAs such, he reiterated a call for members of the public with related information to come forward and assist ongoing investigations.
So far, Ops Global has also nabbed the GISBH CEO, his children, and senior leaders of the movement affiliated with the banned Al-Arqam deviant sect.
Several other teaching assistants at religious schools linked to the movement have also been charged with committing sexual offences against children. - Mkini
