Pn Sets Reform Agenda In Sabah While Bn Dreams Of Blue Wave Comeback

WITH exactly one week until polling day on Nov 29, Perikatan Nasional (PN) today unveiled its 12-pillar “Kasi Bagus Sabah” manifesto, positioning itself as the coalition that will reset state governance and protect Sabah’s wealth for future generations.
The centrepiece is a proposed RM10bil Sabah Future Fund, a sovereign wealth fund to generate long-term returns from the state’s natural resources.
Launching the manifesto in Putatan before around 1,000 supporters, PN chairperson Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin declared: “We want to make sure the wealth of Sabah is shared today and protected for future generations.”
Muhyiddin also renewed PN’s commitment to enforce Sabah’s constitutional 40% entitlement to federal revenue, insisting it “must be fulfilled, not ignored”.
The pledge mirrors Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS)’s own promise last week of a state sovereign wealth fund and a two-term limit for the chief minister.
Meanwhile, at Barisan Nasional’s (BN) manifesto launch, coalition chairman Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said BN will only name its chief minister candidate after securing “substantial wins” with the decision to be made through a syura (consultation) process that respects party hierarchy.
Predicting victory, Zahid told reporters: “I am confident that the wave this time will turn ‘blue’ and we will make Sabah ‘blue’ again,” referring to BN’s traditional colour and its long dominance of the state until 2018.
Zahid promised to personally push for resolution of the 40% revenue issue in the federal Cabinet and stressed that restoring Sabah’s MA63 rights remains a priority under the current unity government.
