Pkr Panel Ignored Our Complaints Says Defeated Candidate Farhash
The PKR election committee said today that there were hacking attempts but it did not affect most of the election results. (Bernama pic)PETALING JAYA: The PKR election committee has been accused of ignoring complaints by election candidates about the online voting system when it released its forensic audit report today.
Defeated candidate Farhash Wafa Salvador Rizal Mubarak said the ADIL app used for online voting was problematic and was considered to be questionable.
Claims of hacking attempts on the online voting system, raised in the audit report, were nothing but an attempt by the committee to deflect attention from its failure to uphold transparency in the voting process, he said.
He said most of the objections were not about whether the system was hacked but on the possibility of manipulation of the results by insiders. “Their complaints could have been handled by a recount in front of candidates, their representatives, or third parties,” he said.

“This request for transparency was ignored. We even learned from our inside source that this forensic audit did not even focus on online votes that sparked many controversies,” he said in a statement this evening.
The election committee said earlier today that a forensic audit had found attempts to hack the PKR election results and that the experts involved in the audit had recommended the party update its voting records.
However, the attempts to manipulate the results did not affect most of the winning candidates, at central leadership or division level.
Farhash, a former aide to PKR president Anwar Ibrahim, was a candidate to be Gombak divisional chairman, and for a vice-presidency. He was defeated in Gombak by Amirudin Shari and also lost in the other race. - FMT
