Perak Mb S Video Clip To Be Discussed At Harapan Presidential Council

Bersatu Youth Chief Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman (above) said the controversial video featuring Perak Menteri Besar Ahmad Faizal Azumu criticising his DAP partners would be discussed at the Pakatan Harapan Presidential Council
Syed Saddiq also challenged claims by the opposition that the DAP was anti-Islam and anti-Malay opposition
"I agree with Lim Kit Siang's statement that we need to focus on the Tanjung Piai by-election for the moment.""This matter (MB video) will be discussed and reviewed at the Pakatan Harapan presidential council, of which I am also a member," he told reporters after attending the 2019 Youth Economic Forum in Sasana Kijang, Bank Negara Malaysia this morning

Earlier, he was asked to comment whether Faizal will apologize to the presidential council for his remarks
Yesterday, the video broke which showed Faizal (above) having an informal discussion with several individuals, in which the menteri besar spoke about waging a desperate battle on his own to safeguard the interests of the Malays and Islam
“In Perak, I am fighting a desperate battle alone against 'puak-puak' (factions) DAP. I want to defend the land of the Malays, I want to champion our religion
“(But) I do it, slowly. 'Alhamduillah' (thank God), my Umno friends (in Perak) do not scold me like this,” he saidPakatan Harapan's candidate in Tanjung Piai, Karmaine Sardini was also seen in the video recording
The menteri besar has since claimed that his remarks were taken out of context, and denied there is a rift with DAP
According to Syed Saddiq, who is also Youth and Sports Minister, the accusations that DAP is anti-Islam and anti-Malay are simply not true
"Why do they agree with our proposal to increase the allocation to help the poor Malays in education in bumiputera institutions from RM7.6 billion to RM8 billion
"Why do they agree to allocate funds to Islamic institutions? At present, the funds are RM1.2 billion, an increase of one hundred million ringgit which is a substantial increase, and at the same time tuition allowances for ustaz have also been increased," he said
"These proposals show that we continue to move as a family. They are not anti-Muslim or anti-Malays because Pakatan Harapan is working as hard as possible for all Malaysians regardless of race and religion," he added. - Mkini
