Peluang Yang Tidak Akan Berulang Dan Tidak Dapat Dimiliki Lagi Oleh Malaysia

Why is Mahathir so passionate about building the third bridge between Malaysia and Singapore? This is Singapore, and the surrounding land around the island, is Malaysia.
I marked where Malaysia is proposing the 3rd bridge to be…
But as you can see, its connected far away from the Johor’s capital, Johor Bahru City… and looks like its connecting to no where….
Lets zoom in.
hmm… there is actually some massive construction thingy going on at the Malaysia side near the proposed bridge area….
Are they building a new city?
What could it be?
Lets zoom in further…
Are you seeing what I am seeing?
This is no city.
This is a super duper massive industrial estate.
Just check out the size of this place. This part is just the top left part of the entire estate, probably only 5% of the total area - and it can already hold so many buildings….
But this is a really weird place to build such a huge estate - when there isnt a city/town big enough to “power” this entire estate with enough workers…
Just check out how small in comparison, the nearest coastal town of Sungai Rengit, to the massive industrial estate.
So now do you know why they need a 3rd bridge?
They are planning to build an industrial zone, that is as big as the entire Jurong + Tuas industrial area of Singapore combined. What they are missing now, is a proper port or some form of logistical hub to conduct its import/export trading, an airport to facilitate its “communications” to the world and a ready market for whatever export they gonna produce there.
Singapore’s geography looks prime to “capitalise” on this “opportunity”….
But Singapore isnt dumb.
Building the bridge will without doubt, destroy/damage Singapore’s own industrial base, effectively pouring money into this region, which could have been used to invest locally - making Singapore-Johor a Hong Kong-Shenzhen situation - which had been a disaster for Hong Kong from my observation.
Why would Singapore develop a Malaysia backwater area into a competitor that can rival Singapore, or at least give Singapore a hard time?
This entire development looks like they (whoever planned this) had always planned to capitalise and betting on connecting to Singapore.
Just check out how far it is from “civilisation”:
Its around an hour+ drive to Pasir Gudang, the nearest major port in Johor.
And around 1.5 hours drive to the center of Johor Bahru.
And this is assuming you are driving at around 70km/h. If you are driving a cargo truck - it could easily take 2+ hours.
(although I have to say, google maps seemed really optimistic about the speed of driving and time it will take…)
So distance wise, it makes insufficient sense to:
1. Build such a massive estate so far away from Johor Bahru
2. To build a bridge to the countryside that no one living in Johor Bahru is going to use.
So just look at this entire map strategically - does it make sense to build that 3rd bridge there?
A 3rd bridge that is supposed to “alleviate the traffic jams” currently plaguing the cause way and the 2nd link? (the current 2 connections between Singapore and Malaysia)
Just look how far it is away from the center of commerce in Johor… and how unusual it is to propose such a bridge… and how long and big that bridge is going to be….
So I hope I sort of answer the question… and more.
