Pas Will Take Part In Johor State Election Says Takiyuddin

Its secretary-general Datuk Takiyuddin Hassan said however, the party has yet to decide on the nominees and number of seats to be contested.
"Pas cannot decide (at the moment) how we will be involved in the Johor state election as a final decision is yet to be made.
"But as an august political party in the country, Pas has never missed taking part in any state election or general election.
"Pas will definitely contest in the state election in Johor but whether its one or more seats, it is yet to be known," he said.
The Kota Baru Member of Parliament told this to reporters after meeting with the Chinese community here today.
Takiyuddin who is the Energy and Natural Resources Minister said Pas will hold a discussion on the matter with other parties including Umno and Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu).
Meanwhile, Pas vice-president Datuk Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah said the Islamic party's central leaders will discuss the matter once the Johor state assembly is dissolved.
"Any latest decision by the party will only be made after the meeting," he added.
The Sultan of Johor, Sultan Ibrahim Sultan Iskandar today consented for the state legislative assembly to be dissolved.
In a statement posted on the Sultan's official Facebook account, the ruler said he had signed the dissolution letter of the Johor State Assembly to make way for the state election.
The Johor State Assembly currently comprises 56 seats with Umno (14), DAP (14), Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (11), PKR (7), Parti Amanah Negara (6), MIC (2) and PAS (1). - NST
