Pas Will Never Join Harapan S Big Tent For Ge15 Hadi

PAS will never join Pakatan Harapan's 'big tent' to face the upcoming 15th general election, said party president Abdul Hadi Awang.
Hadi said his party is still maintaining its cooperation with Perikatan Nasional (PN).
"The secretary-general's statement (about no cooperation) is enough. We are still working with PN … and working with the government.
"There is no (cooperation with Harapan). It has not happened," he said to reporters in Marang today.
On April 18, PAS said they had rejected any suggestion to work with opposition parties in the upcoming general election.
In the statement, PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan had urged for the government's political coalition to be strengthened and stressed that there would be no cooperation with opposition parties, "specifically Pakatan Harapan".
The Islamist party is confident that BN, PN, Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS), Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) and Star can work together well.
"PAS is very confident that its approach of uniting the Muslims, which can be achieved through the collaboration of main parties in the country that is based on the concept of Malay-Muslim and bumiputera unity, is the most effective formula and is accepted by the majority of Malaysians," Takiyuddin had said.
Hadi stressed that his party would never work with Harapan, including Amanah, which was a splinter party from PAS.
"We have cooperated for more than 20 years. That is long enough.
"Normally, political cooperation (which has ended) will not be repeated," he said.

Meanwhile, Hadi stated that PAS would no longer respond to the so-called PAS leaks document, which he described as a poison pen letter meant to denigrate the party.
Only those "loyar buruk" (those not trained in law but dispenses legal opinion) groups are interested in the document, he added.
There is also no need to deny anything after PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar had explained the situation earlier.
"The problem is we don't even know who wrote that letter, so there is no use we pay attention to this poison pen letter.
"I think only those 'loyar buruk' will pay attention to this letter because even from a legal perspective, there is nothing that sticks," Hadi said.
The PAS president said it would be up to Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to lodge a police report on this matter because PAS would maintain its stand on not responding to the issue.
He added that this recent development has also not threatened PAS' relationship with its allies in PN.
The "leaked document" is a purported summary of meetings between PAS vice-president Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar and secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan with other political figures from Bersatu, Pejuang and Umno between March 24 and April 7.
According to the document, Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin told the PAS leaders that "the attorney-general and chief justice have agreed to expedite the case and sentencing" of Zahid and former prime minister Najib Abdul Razak.
Previously, Samsuri had admitted to meeting some of the people named in the conspiracy but said the document itself was fake and even his name was spelt wrong.
The judiciary has also since denied colluding to expedite Zahid and Najib's cases.
PN secretary-general Hamzah Zainudin, also named in the document, has also rubbished the document. - Mkini
