Pas May Eventually Break With Umno
PAS now needs to reflect on its future and on the direction the party wishes to take. Sometimes PAS tends to lose touch with reality and tries to bite off more than it can chew. It certainly looks impressive when you contest hundreds of seats all over Malaysia. But it is winnability that matters, not number of seats you contest.
NO HOLDS BARRED

PAS is split into one group that wants to work with Umno, even if that means not working with Bersatu, and another group what wants to work with Bersatu, even if that means not working with Umno. And this has caused an internal split in the party (which has happened a number of times in the past).
Of course, given a choice, PAS wants to work with both Umno AND Bersatu. But that is not really up to PAS to decide. It is up to Umno because Umno is far stronger than PAS and Bersatu combined.
Furthermore, Umno in Terengganu and Kelantan will not accept PAS as a partner — or does not want to enter into an electoral pact with PAS. Umno Terengganu-Kelantan wants to contest every seat and wipe PAS out.
In Selangor, Umno is open to an electoral pact with PAS, but only for the state seats. For the parliament constituencies, Umno wants to contest all seats.

The stronger Umno gets, the more it will not see any benefit in working with PAS. Johor will be having its state election soon, maybe in March or so. If they can repeat the impressive performance as in the Melaka and Sarawak state elections, that will means GE15 will be held later this year and Umno-Barisan Nasional will not have any pact with Muafakat Nasional or Perikatan Nasional.
