(TMI) – Anti-graft sources refused to reveal his name but The Malaysian Insight learnt that the frozen accounts belong to the former PAS deputy president and three foundations and a company he chairs.
Nasharudin could not be reached for comment.
One of the foundations was the Global Movement of Moderates Foundation (GMMF) formed during the Najib Razak administration in 2012, said a high-ranking MACC source.
“The foundation shuttered in July last year. However, during the course of our investigations, we found that it was still operating,” the source told The Malaysian Insight.
“The former PAS leader is chairman of all three foundations and the company.”
All five accounts, with a total of RM2.3 million, have been frozen, the source said.
MACC also confiscated three luxury vehicles – a Toyota Vellfire, a Range Rover and a Mini Cooper, as well as a commercial property valued at RM2 million.
The Malaysian Insight understands that Nasharudin owned the Toyota and Mini Cooper.

Last week, the anti-graft agency confirmed the case does not involve party accounts because it found no transfer from 1MDB to PAS’ official bank accounts via Umno.
However, investigations were extended to several PAS leaders and individuals linked to the Islamist party.
This was following leads that the money had been transferred via multiple accounts and possibly laundered, said the source.
Among those investigated was PAS secretary-general Takiyuddin Hassan in relation to luxury vehicles he owned.
MACC had also questioned PAS spiritual leader Hashim Jasin over the ownership of a Porsche Cayman.
Hashim told MACC the vehicle was bought by his son several years ago, using an approved permit allotted to him as an MP.
Also questioned was PAS central election secretary Mohd Nasir Daud. Nasir told reporters he was one of those questioned over the RM90 million transferred from Umno to PAS, as alleged by Sarawak Report editor Clare Rewcastle-Brown.
MACC also recorded the statement of PAS central committee member Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz.
MACC began its investigations after PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang withdrew his suit against Rewcastle-Brown, who accused the party of receiving money from Umno.
Sarawak Report also alleged that PAS used the money to fund its campaign costs in the 14th general election.
In last year’s elections, PAS contested 158 parliamentary seats and 393 state seats, usually in three-cornered fights against Barisan Nasional and Pakatan Harapan.
Nasharudin was questioned by MACC in early February. He said then that he hoped the commission would investigate all parties concerned, especially those who claimed to have evidence.
