Over 100 Join Anti Graft Rally In Sabah Call Out Hypocrite Pm
Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim should stop being a hypocrite and throw the book at corrupt individuals.
“The prime minister should also push forward with the reforms he promised us,” said Secretariat Rakyat Benci Rasuah coordinator Fadhil Kasim to Malaysiakini.
This was among the demands made at the ongoing “Gempur Rasuah Sabah 2.0” rally today organised in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah, which saw over 100 people attending.
The rally, which began at about 1pm today, will continue until 11am tomorrow.
Many sang songs and carried placards which read, “Koruptor Yang Baik, Koruptor Yang Mati” (a good corrupt person is dead one) and “All Power to the People”.

The police were seen facilitating the crowd, with no untoward incident reported.
The group gathered near the Suria Sabah shopping mall, before marching to Dataran Deasoka some 700m away.
Law in the bin
Touching on the rally, Fadhil said the group’s core demands remain the same, urging legal action against the Sabah Water Department (Jans) and MACC to be instituted as a truly independent entity.
They are also protesting the appointment of Musa Aman as state governor and urging Putrajaya to take firm action against the corrupt.
Meanwhile, Warisan Youth committee member Melvin Lo, who also participated in the rally, was seen throwing a copy of the Whistleblower’s Act 2010 in the dustbin after complaining about how it was not used to protect whistleblowers properly.
“The MACC doesn’t care about the whistleblower and never protected him,” he told Malaysiakini.

Warisan Youth committee member Melvin LoADSLo was referring to a report on June 18, where the whistleblower known as Albert, who exposed the Sabah corruption scandal, is set to be charged on June 30, along with two other Sabah assemblypersons.
The whistleblower’s lawyer, Mahajoth Singh, had described it as “shocking and disappointing”.
Lo remarked: “The charges levelled against the whistleblower are flawed.
“That’s why I got upset and threw it (a copy of the Whistleblower’s Act) into the dustbin.”
The whistleblower in the Sabah corruption scandal had submitted a trove of videos, documents, and WhatsApp message screenshots to the MACC, allegedly implicating several assemblypersons. - Mkini
