A SOMEWHAT sexist observation has gained plenty of traction.
This much was true when a Facebook post got everyone’s tongues wagging. Poster Terpailng Media has observed that modern women would go to extraordinary lengths to look great when going out.
But behind that beautiful façade was the soul of a messy housekeeper, he warned!

Though it was added that the proviso this did NOT apply to ALL females, the post still got tongues wagging. It has generated over 7.1K likes, 2.4K comments and 1.7K shares at time of publication, a reflection that the subject matter was valid.
For starters, there were those who agreed with the poster. One netizen made the sweeping statement that modern women just weren’t very good at tidying up or indeed cooking.

One had the temerity to suggest that no matter how pretty or sexy the lady is, it would not interest him if she “is a rat’s nest keeper”.

It was pointed out that many such lazy ladies were only interested in looking good to trap a “big fish”.

Another commenter argued that appearances could be deceiving as a good-looking façade may be hiding a messy personality. This applied to both genders, he added.

Dismissing that this was a problem associated with only the ladies, a few postulated that the men – especially those occupying rented houses – were just as bad.

Comparing the scenario when working in Australia, one commenter noticed that most homes there were neat and tidy. Upon returning to Malaysia, he noticed that many youngsters did not have the same attitude towards cleanliness. It was a matter of upbringing, he surmised.

More than few were in no doubt where the blame lay for such attitudes – smartphones and social media!

One netizen sought to justify it by saying the younger generation were forced to work round-the-clock to earn a decent living. The more developed a nation becomes, the further it sinks into a dark hole.

One summed up these types best when he surmised that they looked like queens when out and about but were akin to ghosts at home.

So how does one know if a lady is worth pursuing?
Tell-tale sign of a good housekeeper is that the front of the home will be full of flowerpots, counselled one female netizen.
