Online Poll Shows Pmx Unpopular Among Voters
PRIME Minister (PM) Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, or famously known as PMX, has been both praised and criticised for his actions recently. However, an online poll suggests that he is unpopular with certain demographics.
According to reports, the PM faces growing disillusionment over his “reformasi” agenda. Critics highlighted slow reforms, reduced sentences for former premier Datuk Seri Najib Razak and dropped charges against Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Civil society groups like Bersih struggle to mobilise support, citing systemic barriers and political instability. Anwar’s coalition with Barisan Nasional provides stability but limits reforms. With elections in 2027, restoring public trust remains crucial.
On social media platforms, there have been discussions about the country’s future. An X page recently shared a screenshot of an online Telegram group chat poll done by a publication. Unfortunately, the figures are not too pleasing, as over 80% disagree with him being PM.
However, netizens are still assured of his popularity as the Edisi Siasat’s demographics aren’t entirely fans of the current government to begin with. They say that said demographic are opposition supporters.
Additionally, users claimed that said platform is not entirely reliable to conduct such surveys. An X user added that the channel is mostly biased to the opposition side. They feel the best way to know if our leader is still popular is to wait three years for the next election.
Now, it is unclear if said allegations towards the creators of the poll are valid or not, as social media users at times can make an incorrect conclusion. — Focus Malaysia
