Of Sharks And A Sprawling Bungalow Kedah Mb Bites Slanderers
Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor claimed that “slanderers are working hard” ahead of the state election in response to claims that he owned a sprawling bungalow in Sik.
In a statement, the PAS leader said the residence belonged to his brother.
"The owner of this house had saved up working as a deep-sea diver, where he was forced to be apart from his wife and children for months at a time.
“Not once or twice, but on numerous occasions when his wife was risking her life to give birth, the husband was battling with sharks.
“The couple and their children have sacrificed much (to be in their current position),” Sanusi said.
The menteri besar censured those who attempted to link him to the bungalow with a social media post containing photographs and even a Google Map.
“These slanderers are working hard to influence the people into believing that I am now so rich that I can build a house like that.
“The house is not mine. Not a single sen of my money was used to build the house,” he added.
Meanwhile, Sanusi said he was saddened that certain quarters were willing to spread such slander when his brother’s family was about to move into their new home.
“What wrong did they do to you (those responsible for the post)?” he asked.
‘Brother victimised’
Sanusi lamented that his brother was victimised by the impression that the house was constructed with ill-gotten money when it was earned with his sweat and toil.
“What was his mistake to the extent there are those willing to spread slander when they don’t even know who owns the house?
“Is it his mistake for having blood ties with me?
“Is it because he is my brother, he cannot build a big house even if can afford to do so?” he asked, adding that the people in Sik know the truth.
Sanusi described his brother as someone “strong-willed, hardworking and disciplined”, who was motivated to improve his position in life.
“He was also wise in managing finances and buying properties…
"My brother manages his life with discipline, unlike these political lackeys whose hearts are enveloped in anger, hatred and vengeance.
“They are willing to spread slander in return for a small reward. They are like flies around faeces. Be prepared to answer for your sins in the afterlife,” he added.
Earlier, Berita Harian published a screenshot of the social media post, which alleged that Sanusi had purchased the house valued at RM7.8 million under his brother’s name.
The screenshot also contained a response from another netizen, whose name was masked, cautioning against spreading misinformation.
“Everyone in Sik knows what Sanusi’s brother works as. An oil and gas welder 'kot' (presumably). Huge salary. So, it’s no surprise that he can build a house like this. Should see Sanusi’s house…,” read the post. - Mkini
