NTT Ltd., a leading global technology services company, announces that its fifth data center at Cyberjaya Campus, Cyberjaya 5 (CBJ5), has received UPTIME Tier III Certificate of Design Documents and the Tier III Certificate of Constructed Facility. In addition, CBJ5 has achieved the TIA-942 Rated-3 certification by EPI, the only ANSI/TIA-942 CAB (Conformity Assessment Body) authorised under the official TIA-942 Accreditation Scheme.
The UPTIME Tier III certificates mean CBJ5 meets the performance and reliability requirements for around-the-clock operations and efficiently operate without any shutdowns, ensuring maximum level of safety and security for optimum performance. Its TIA-942 Rated-3 certificate confirms that CBJ5 can undergo any planned maintenance without downtime or disruption to its operations.
The achievement was celebrated with a special ceremony officiated by Oka Hiroshi, Ambassador of Japan to Malaysia and Zulkarnain Mohd Yasin, Chief Regulatory Officer, Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC). “We are very confident that CBJ5 and its new certifications, together with NTT’s enormous investment in a new and high capacity submarine cable project, will attract more international investors and enterprises to the country, strengthening it as a business and economic hub while contributing to the new digital initiative, MyDIGITAL, which aims to transform Malaysia into a regional leader in digital economy,” said Oka Hiroshi during the event.

Furthermore, CBJ5 meets other global standard practice such as Payment Card Industry and Data Security Standard (PCI DSS), Threat and Vulnerability Risk Assessment (TVRA), and Data Center Risk Assessment (DCRA) which was carried out based on Bank Negara Malaysia’s (BNM) Risk Management in Technology (RMiT) framework.
Commenting on the accolades, Henrick Choo, CEO of NTT Ltd. Malaysia said, “With these certifications, our customers such as BFSIs, can be assured that our data centre operates at the highest quality standards. Our Cyberjaya Campus features a high-density fiber network facilitating inter- connection among our clients to create a robust digital supply chain ecosystem. This is especially crucial now as corporations are shifting towards hybrid cloud services to address demands of upgrade and supporting critical infrastructure as well as storage needs, along with using devices to support remote working during the pandemic.”
“We believe that effective connectivity and reliable infrastructure are crucial to ensure business continuity. Apart from global reach, our clients also benefit from our local operational expertise alongside a full stack of customizable solutions. Our data center is equipped with advanced technology, technically skilled employees, and proactive troubleshooting to help our clients avoid costly application and network downtime, ensuring resiliency for recovery,” said Matsuo Ryuichi, Executive Vice President of NTT Ltd’s Global Data Centers division.
CBJ5 commenced its service on 3 February 2021. This latest data center by NTT boasts a Tier IV [1] ready, compact and modular design, to provide clients with flexible and scalable power, and a cooling solution of up to 15kW/rack. CBJ5 has a cooling wall system that is the first of its kind, offering optimum power efficiency and cost-effective cooling system to support high density hyperscalers as well as high- end corporate users in Malaysia.
