Netizens On X Rally Against Machang Mp
MACHANG MP Wan Ahmad Fayhsal defended PAS, stating Malays practice restrained politicking and it’s wrong to link them with threats against Seputeh MP Teresa Kok. He argued that allegations of PAS inciting violence are baseless and harmful.
Wan Fayhsal, who is from Bersatu, proposes a law to shield politicians from threats, highlighting the role of social media in radicalising individuals. He suggested that supporters, not parties, often overstep, urging a focus on national development over divisive politics.
“Malays have never been radical. They know their limits when politicking. Killing, or hurting people is haram (in Islam),” he said.
However, his statement did not go down well with netizens on the X platform, with many commenting that he should wake up from his slumber when it comes to parties that are using extreme ways to galvanise support.
In response to Wan Fayhsal, a user stated that Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Muafakat National (MN) political figures are radicals and extremes, but on the contrary, Malay citizens or ordinary Malays are peace-loving people, adding that politicians are the ones who instigate hate-mongering in people’s hearts.
In general, there appear to be mixed reactions among netizens over the Machang MP’s statement.
A user gave their support to the MP while another, like many others, was not kind, saying the latter is plain foolish but the public is not as foolish. They do not agree that the PAS for example is not using extreme means to gain popularity.
One user said that Wan Fayhsal can’t just wrap all the Malays into one group. That is because there are politicians, and when they appear on the scene, they bring disharmony.
