Najib S Supporters Absent From Zahid S Closed Door Briefing

The absence of several Umno leaders from a divisional-level closed-door meeting with party president, Ahmad Zahid Hamidi is believed to be due to their disappointment over the Federal Territories Pardons Board’s decision.
Several division leaders contacted by Malaysiakini said they were "not interested" in hearing an explanation from Zahid in the meeting that was held in Kuala Lumpur on Sunday.
"I didn't attend the meeting, I'm not interested," said an anonymous divisional leader who backed Najib.
Zahid held a closed-door meeting with Umno division heads to explain the pardon board's decision on Najib's sentence.
A total of 145 out of 191 division chiefs attended the meeting held at the World Trade Centre (WTC) Kuala Lumpur, which means 46 were absent.
Umno president Ahmad Zahid HamidiPrior to that, Umno postponed the Bumiputera Economic Pre-Congress Colloquium which was scheduled to be held at the same venue last weekend.
The colloquium, organised by Umno vice-president Johari Abdul Ghani, was supposed to be attended by 2,000 Umno leaders from all over the country.
The postponement of the colloquium was done to accommodate this special meeting to discuss the latest political developments, particularly related to the reduction of Najib's sentence from 12 years to six.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya division chief Mutalif Abdul Rahim said that in the meeting, Zahid called on divisional leaders to continue supporting him in delivering justice to Najib.
Former prime minister Najib Abdul RazakHe said that they all respected the decision made by the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and would use legal means to defend the former prime minister.
"The president said we (Umno) should respect the decision.
“However, we will continue to be steadfast, uphold love and fight for justice for Najib.
“Hopefully, one day, he will get the justice he deserves and everyone is confident," he said when contacted by Malaysiakini. - Mkini
