Myppp May Be Defunct But Kayveas Still Issuing Termination Letters

KUALA LUMPUR: The party may have been deregistered and any talk about membership would be meaningless, but that didn't stop MyPPP's former president Tan Sri M. Kayveas (pic) from issuing letters of termination to 13 former members.

"He used the party letterhead and referred to himself as the de facto leader of the party," said Datuk Seri Maglin D'Cruz, who was among the 13.

According to him, this was not the first time that Kayveas tried to terminate membership of former party members.

"How many times does he want to fire us?" asked D'Cruz, who was once involved in a power tussle with Kayveas.

He said Kayveas broke the law by using the party letterhead when he issued letters of termination.

As such, D'Cruz, along with several other former members, lodged a police report at the Dang Wangi police headquarters over the matter.

"We will be handing over these documents to the Registrar of Societies (RoS).

"We hope the police and the RoS will look into the matter seriously.

"This is clearly a breach of the law, and action must be taken," he said.

MyPPP had been plagued with a leadership issue involving two factions prior to it being deregistered.

Aside from D'Cruz, Kayveas also claimed to be the party's top leader. On April 23 last year, Kayveas relinquished all his posts in the party.

However, a few days later, he withdrew his resignation letter.

The other faction, though, claimed that Kayveas, who helmed the party for 25 years, was sacked on April 25.
