Muhyiddin Lacks Intelligence Has Nothing To Offer Johor Voters Says Khaled

Khaled Nordin said Muhyiddin Yassin has no concrete plans, ideas or vision for Johor and so has to resort to attacking Umno leaders.PETALING JAYA: Umno vice-president Khaled Nordin accused Muhyiddin Yassin of “lacking intelligence” and said the former prime minister had nothing to offer voters in Johor.
He said his assessment was based on the Bersatu president’s continued attacks against Umno leaders, in particular the so-called “court cluster”, pointing out that they were not even contesting in the state polls.
“I feel really sorry for the Bersatu president. He lacks intelligence. The Bersatu president also appears to have no concrete plans, ideas or vision to benefit voters in the state.
“Hence, the need to constantly make personal attacks against Umno leaders,” Khaled said in a Facebook post today.
“Based on his latest comments, it appears that Bersatu’s only objective in the Johor elections seems to be to oppose this ‘court cluster’.”
The “court cluster” refers to a group of Umno leaders who are either on trial or have been convicted over charges of corruption, criminal breach of trust (CBT), abuse of power and money laundering. It includes former prime minister Najib Razak and Umno president Ahmad Zahid Hamidi.
Khaled was responding to a statement by Muhyiddin yesterday that the only way to prevent the Umno “court cluster” from returning to power was if Umno-Barisan Nasional lost in the Johor polls.
Muhyiddin said that if Umno won big in Johor, the party would push Prime Minister Ismail Sabri Yaakob to dissolve Parliament and hold a general election (GE15).
This he said would see Zahid deciding on the candidates and lead the party in the nationwide polls.
Commenting further, Khaled, who is a former Johor menteri besar, said what the people in the state wanted was a stable government that could help revive the economy.
He also claimed that Muhyiddin was facing the biggest crisis in his political journey after losing support as prime minister and following Bersatu’s failure in the Melaka state elections last November. - FMT
