Mp Wants To Know If Emergency Will Be Declared In Gerik Bugaya

Several ministries will continue their winding-up debate on the Supply Bill 2021 in the Dewan Rakyat today.KUALA LUMPUR: The prime minister will be asked today if the government intends to advise the Yang di-Pertuan Agong to declare a state of emergency in the Gerik parliamentary constituency in Perak and the Bugaya state constituency in Sabah.
The King had earlier consented to declare a state of emergency in Batu Sapi, Sabah, effectively postponing the by-election there, in view of the spike in Covid-19 cases.
The incumbents for all three constituencies have recently passed away.
According to the Order Paper in the Dewan Rakyat, Ahmad Maslan (BN-Pontian) will ask Muhyiddin Yassin during Minister’s Question Time about the possibility of a state of emergency in Gerik and Bugaya, and the rights of the voters in the constituencies.
Teo Nie Ching (PH-Kulai) will also ask the education minister about the effectiveness of TV Pendidikan and the number of students following the programmes.
During the oral question-and-answer session, Nik Mohamad Abduh Nik Abdul Aziz (PAS-Bachok) will ask the home minister about the latest status of the construction of three Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency vessels which will enhance its operations to curb encroachment by foreign fishing boats.
Mohamad Alamin (BN-Kimanis) will also ask the senior international trade and industry minister (Miti) to clarify the strategy on imports and exports, and measures to boost foreign investment, especially in Sabah.
The sitting will continue with the winding-up of the policy-level debate on the Supply Bill 2021, which covers the budget.
The Prime Minister’s Department and Miti have completed their winding-up, and those expected to do so today are the defence; transport; environment and water; human resources; and higher education ministries. - FMT
