M Kumar Appointed New Johor Police Chief
Bukit Aman announced a transfer exercise involving 42 senior officers nationwide. (Bernama pic)KUALA LUMPUR: Johor deputy police chief M Kumar has been appointed as the new Johor police chief with the rank of acting commissioner of police (CP) effective Jan 23, 2024.
Federal police secretary Alzafny Ahmad said the principal assistant director (administration/general policing) at the integrity division of the department of Integrity and standards compliance, Bukit Aman, Afandi Senin, would fill the vacancy left by Kumar with the rank of acting DCP.l
M Kumar.“Seremban district police chief Arifai Tarawe will fill the position vacated by Afandi,” he said in a statement tonight.
He said this was part of an exchange exercise involving 42 senior police officers nationwide.
Also changing positions are Bukit Aman management department administrator Wan Hassan Wan Ahmad, who has been appointed as director of the Bukit Aman crime prevention and community safety department, and Kuala Lumpur police college commandant Anuar Othman who is appointed as the deputy director of management (administration), at the management department in Bukit Aman.
“Deputy Kedah police chief Abu Samah Noor will fill the position of Kuala Lumpur police college commandant, while Kedah criminal investigation department head Adzli Abu Shah will fill the vacancy left by Abu Samah with the rank of acting DCP,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bukit Aman Special Branch E4 assistant director Zahib Sabari will take on the role of principal assistant director of the Bukit Aman Special Branch E4, with the rank of acting DCP. - FMT
