Let S Dance Says Unfazed Fahmi Reza On Musa Aman Case
Graphic artist Fahmi Reza is prepared to appear and defend himself at the Keningau Native Court after the latter summoned him over his caricature of Sabah governor Musa Aman.
In a statement on his social media accounts, Fahmi said he is also prepared to face any punishment, including jail and fine, to defend his right to use art to fight corruption.
“The majority of Sabahans know that I am not an enemy of the KDM (Kadazan, Dusun, Murut) community or the people of Sabah. Our true enemies are the corrupt individuals and those who protect them.
“I am prepared to face fines or imprisonment to defend my right to use art as a weapon in the fight against corruption in our country,” he said in the statement posted today.
Fahmi’s statement was issued to Bingkor district leader, Orang Kaya Kaya Daniel Palangi.
‘Sabah’s No 1 Corruptor’
Yesterday, it was reported that the court sought compensation from Fahmi, deeming the caricatures a serious insult to Musa and the people of Sabah, particularly the KDM communities.
Musa’s late mother was a Dusun from Keningau.
Fahmi Reza’s caricature of Musa Aman in Kota KinabaluFahmi had been criticising Musa through the “Koruptor No 1 Sabah” caricature since the latter’s appointment as state governor last December.
In one instance, Fahmi visited Kota Kinabalu, where he plastered the caricature on a wall, though it was quickly removed.
On Dec 30, Fahmi was arrested in connection with the caricatures and investigated under the Sedition Act. -Mkini
